Over its 160 years, the school building has grown and changed with the times, most recently incorporating an on-site Partnership Foundation Stage Unit with Culham Pre-school to bring the children closer together. Set in pleasant grounds with grassed and hard play areas, an adventure playground and enclosed pond, the school setting provides an intimate family atmosphere and a caring environment.
The school can currently accommodate a maximum of 56 pupils, mainly from Culham and Sutton Courtenay, although we do have pupils from several surrounding villages as well as nearby Abingdon. As a small school with low teacher-pupil ratios, the children benefit from flexible learning and strong relationships between staff and pupils: a recent OFSTED report called us ''small, but perfectly formed.''
Our mission is to equip all our pupils for a journey of lifelong discovery by teaching them how to learn and to be secure in that learning. We aim to serve the community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and to promote Christian values through the experience it offers all its pupils.
Our vision is for every child to become an independent learner who takes pleasure in the pursuit of knowledge, and to offer a school life that incorporates the values of the Christian faith. |
